pregnancy belly cast or belly mask forever captures the miraculous
changes in your body during pregnancy. It is a wonderful way
to remember this very intimate time you are sharing with your
growing baby. A belly cast is a plaster cast made of your
pregnant belly or torso and is a beautiful and unique keepsake
celebrating the miracle of life.
Cost $60 to $200, depending on size of cast.
The Process:
Part I
- In a cool room the women is positioned in the desired
pose
- The body is covered with cold cream to assist in the removal
of cast once dried
- By applying layers of wet casting strips to the desired
body parts, the cast is formed
- Once the cast is dry it is then removed, leaving a hollow
shell
- Then the women is given a loofah to assist in cleaning
herself off
- This part of the process can be 20-40 minutes
Part II
- At this time the cast gets reinforced to assure its stability
(upto 1hr.)
- Cast is then shaped and left to dry
Part III
- Once cast is dry a finish/seal can be add on, this too
must dry thoroughly
- Cast can now be sanded and painted or left in its natural
form
- Total timing of project is 3-4 hours.
