Our Goal
Our goal is to provide maternity services that enhance the pregnancy and birth experience of expectant parents. By promoting informed decision making, prenatal bonding, and healthy lifestyles we achieve our goal.

Our Philosophy
We have a simple and caring philosophy, that is focused on the unique needs of each mother and child. We believe the essence of pregnancy and childbirth preparation is acknowledging the innate wisdom of the body, a journey of self-discovery and research of obstectrical information. Thus, our wonderful ministry of giving continual emotional and physical support to expectant parents as well as educating them in their freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives.

History

Lugenia Grider is the founder of Vessels a maternity service which began in 2000. Since that time she has attended numerous births, teaches public classes at Presbyterian Hospital, private classes to her clients and served many women and their newborn children in postpartum care. Lugenia has received her training from DONA (Doulas of North America), PCE (Prepared Childbirth Educators), a NC CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) , a CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) and member of Charlotte Doulas, APPPAH (Association for Pre- & Perinatal) and ICEA. She studies childbirth and infant development, pouring strength into and giving compassion to each birthing vessel. Continuing her growth in love and knowledge, she gives a part of herself to you.
